I Long to Go

You are there,
Just over the horizon,
Which sits beyond a hill;
Out of my small reach,
And yet within Your will.

You are there,
In a place I've never been,
And yet where I belong;
A home for which I'm yearning,
A place from which I've gone.

You are there,
A face I've never seen,
And yet a look I know so well;
A raptured sense of saving,
That far transcends the threat of Hell.

You are there,
Beyond imagining,
What my small mind can't obtain;
The frailness of my humanity,
Which breaks beneath the strain.

You are there,
Just over the horizon,
In that place I long to go;
You, whom I miss so very much,
You whom I hardly know.
