Rain

The loneliness consumes me,
My tears begin to fall,
My heart is slowly breaking,
Wondering if it can ever beat true again at all..

A tear falls down my cheek,
And I try to wipe it away,
But it is like the pain I feel,
More just replace it anyway.

I have loved and lost to much,
My soul is scared to death,
Another tear falls down my face,
Another altered breath.

So much pain inside I feel,
Unwanted like these tears,
It never seems to go away,
I can not face my fears.

I close my eyes and hold my breath,
Hoping the pain will pass,
Then I hear the rain fall outside,
And I open my eyes at last..

I walk outside as it pours down,
I let it wash away my tears,
I feel the breeze on my skin,
As it chases away the fears.

I look up at the stars ,
As the water washes over me,
I close my eyes and smile,
Finally feeling free..

I am ready to let life in,
Its been so long it seems,
But the rain has soothed my heart,
And again I believe in dreams…
