This is a simple poem that was inspired by my father.

Forever I will wait
For you to accept who I am
And love me for what I'm worth.
Not hate what you have made me.

I've always cried for you to understand.
Ripping a hole in my chest.
Always waiting.

But no more tears will be cried
Because no matter how much I hate goodbyes
That is what needed to be said.
Now, I will not cry in hope for you to see;
But I will carry on
With the strength you built in me
