World-weary soulmates meet at the crossroads |
At The Crossroads I vanished unnoticed on time-worn paths, for the world became hard, cold, and mean. Finding joy in it had become skilled labor, and I rested my head more and more often. Where would I find someone here and now, who made me feel as if now was not yet? When would someone see me as I saw myself, before the world broke and rebuilt me to suit it? Creature of the future, I lived lightyears ahead. Time stole my future, feeding it to ghosts of regret. Now there's nothing to lose.No urgency, no panic. Only a spirit wanting to connect with true peace. Here at the crossroads are beautiful things, seen only by the soul with eyes in it's heart. That's where I finally happened upon you, Calmy tossing forget-me-nots away,one-by-one. You've been here longer than me, waiting, with no bags, no maps, eyes on the horizon. While I fell stubbornly through it's hourglass, like a stick caught in the neckpiece of it. Unfullfilled dreams have placed us both here, where mistakes bloom shoots of green promise. We have become wise by becoming much less, united at the crossroads of our lives intertwined. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 - Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! "Loneliness is the first thing which God's eye named not good." -John Milton |
