A fictional short story poem a people who lived in a valley.
The Laeo

There is a valley rich in treasure
Secluded between two mountains
many have searched for it forever
Others have only heard about it

As any other part of the world
the sun daily rises and sets
This land has never been explored
A myth, everyone has started to forget

These mountains are magnificent
The valley rich in animal and forest
Artistry bordering on proficient
No man, has her valley, trespassed

There was once a civilization
That knew not beyond the rise
Sun, moon, stars and creation
Were gods and idols in Laeo eyes

The culture, sophisticated, intelligent
In the arts of engineering they were wise
Eyes of others would not beset the relevant
the only visitors were mountains and skies

Mountains high as Laeo eyes could reach
Splendid towers of snow capped peaks
Laeo told tales in intellectual speech
One with Gaia, in touch with spirituality

An event came to pass, crushed their society
Destruction of hope and opportunity
Division from within brought on by the deity
Storms of fire, took the breath of the free

Clouds rose higher than the mountain tops
Rumbles of thunder struck them with fear
Lightening flashed and rain fell in drops
A new beginning was drawing so near

From the sky, hell began to rain down
For a moment, activity was stalled
Their actions a crawl under Gaia's frown
Worst nightmares had broken their brawl

Though the people were highly intelligent
Floods and avalanches were beyond grasp
Sounds of thunder brought inevitable devastation
they could not prepare for natures climax

Completely wiped of their existence
This secret civilization did perish
Unable to offer to nature, resistance
A doomed people was once a flourish

A spiritual people without humiliation
The Laeo, in unity, once lived higher
A small idea sparked the start of destruction
Left them devastated with none to inspire

The clouds gone, and remnants covered
The Laeo have faded after nature's cain
The landscape a wash with mud all over
Under ground now, Laeo forever remain
