Sherrie Bell is one of the best detectives in her league.

This is the begining of a detective story I started. It's a rough draft so any suggestions are helpful and greatly appreciated.

Sherrie Bell was the highest scoring student in her graduate’s class. She had scholarships from the best colleges in the US. She was a volleyball player- a swimmer, and even a hurdler; the captain of her Honors Society and even a junior vet’s assistant in training. So why was she camouflaged in the form of a black long collared dress and a small hat that covered her bashful green eyes and curly crimson hair? Well that answer also answers another question you may have, why was she standing at the back of the Governmental Building of Records in the middle of the night? Let’s just say Sherrie had made a few… adjustments to her permanent record. She had never been on an athletic team in her life, she was a straight C student in collage, and- oh yeah- she never even graduated.
Sherrie locks the steal back door shut, as it was when she had entered. She slowly peals off one of her black leather gloves and holds her file up with her free hand. “Piece… of… cake,” she smiles, applauding herself for a new record time. She straightens her hat and smoothes out her coat, slipping the file securely into her inner jacket. She gives the night-time street one last glance, tucking her hands into her side pockets, and crossing at the walk.
If there was one thing Sherrie was good at, it was being one of America’s best undercover spies.

The file, Lorry Stighnborg’s, had reached Mr. Waver’s desk at exactly 2:00 pm the next day. Mr. Waver, Sherrie’s boss, looks up from a newspaper article he was so intently reading. He glanced at Sherrie’s professional lifeless face as she stared straight ahead, then down at the small tan folder on his desk. Mr. Waver looked impressed, having it only been a day ago he’d requested the file, laughing it off as a near impossible assignment. But this was Sherrie Bell, she wouldn’t wait forever in line at the coffee shop, she’d deceive the man in front that he had cut in her and insist that he move immediately.
Mr. Waver smiled, as he opened the file and curiously flipped through it. “Impressive Mrs. Bell… very impressive,” he mutters, trying to read at the same time. “I take my work very seriously Mr. Waver,” Sherrie says, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. “I can see that,” was Mr. Waver’s reply “Well it looks like we got our man… er-um girl.”

THE SCARLET BLOOD ROSE
His name was Jeff Scarfield, a well respected entrepreneur of the Beswell County. He’d acquired millions from past lovers who, oddly enough, all agreed to share their prosperity with him, unaware that that was probably the last thing they’d ever do. Scarfield, you see was a crook, a villain of sorts. He had been a past associate of Sherrie bell when they’d gone to grads school together. So he was smart, charming, and wealthy beyond measure but proved not to be Sherrie’s type-that being she didn’t associate with criminals of the worst kind.
“Get a’loda this guy,” Tom, Sherrie's partner, blurts, holding up a picture of Jeff waving a handful of his money in front of his face, his head cocked to the side in the most arrogant manner. He was expecting an exaggerated snicker to come from Sherrie’s mouth, but in stead, a very girlish gasp.
“Oh my gosh,” Sherrie breathed, She’d remembered that face. She quickly snatches the picture form Tom’s hands. “That’s Jeff… I mean- Mr. Scarfield… we went to he same collage together…guess he’s doing pretty well, huh?” she says, handing the photo back. Tom frowns, did she actually like this guy?
“Well not by my record,” Mr. Waver interrupts, waving a file in his hand “He’s been in a number of financial scandals over the years and we’ve been ordered to bring him in for questioning,” Sherrie, who had now plopped herself down on her boss’s desk look slightly surprised by the news. Tom held the photo firmly in his hand, what did this guy have that he didn’t?
“Anyway, I need you, Sherrie, to get all the info on this guy you can, got it?” Mr. Waver orders, handing the file to Sherrie. She snatches the file and stands from the desk “On it,” she says already on her way out.
