all creatures great and small,
quiver before the power and shock of thunder,
at the shock and power of thunder.
the rain penetrates the calmness of the pond below,
all fish quiver at the movement of the rain,
at the power and movement of the rain.
a flowing river stops at the power and shock of lightning,
and the shock and power of lightning.
