As I Stepped into a Painting

And still today
I went away
to fetch a ladybug.
And I found it along the way,
and next to it a lovely frame.
I asked myself, 'How can this frame be here?
And how did it come so near?
Is it moving or is it still?
I can't believe my eyes,
I'm part of a living still!
Paint is all over me
and I am feeling completely
at home.

Behind the glass
I feel at last
that I never want to go."
