Remembering those fireflies
I'll be your late July
An open field of fireflies
A slowly passing Summer sky
With the clouds own lullaby
I'll be your late July

The lazy river winding by
While thunder warns us through the night
And all the times we tried to hide
From the heat that melts the sky

As I sit and watch you cry
Beside the grave you kneel and sigh
Comfort falling from the sky
Those memories I try to wipe

Because I'll be your late July
Reminder of a better time
As you catch the fireflies
And let them all go just in time

Remembering that late July
