Full Moon Rising

The moon was bright, just beginning its ascent into the beautiful, autumn, star-lit sky over Kanoha.
Naruto sat quietly by himself on a high hill, the perfect place to see the moon rise from its elegant slumber.

He took a quick gaze as Kanoha's population turned off its lights for a well deserved slumber, leaving the village in a peaceful darkness.

Naruto just sat, pulling his legs up to his chest, his eyes still directed at the sparkling white moon.

The wind blew a cold and stinging breeze that made him shiver.

Naruto began to rub his arms and chest in an attempt to keep himself warm. He did not notice the person approach behind him.

Suddenly he could feel somebody's caring arms wrap around him. When he picked up the scent of sweet strawberries, Naruto knew exactly who it was.

"What're you doing up here without a coat, Sweetie?" Sakura whispered into his ear.

"My house is too far away, this is the perfect place to see the moon rise, and I wanted to stay and watch," Naruto said while pulling her close to him.

The two watched the moon rise into the sky at a slow and steady pace.

Naruto looked at her, "It's a full moon tonight."

Sakura smiled lightly, "I know, it's beautiful isn't it?"

Naruto hugged Sakura close, "I'm glad you're still with me."

Sakura smiled and kissed his cheek, "I know."

"I love you so much, Sakura."

"I know, Naruto."

He buried his head into her hair, "Sakura, do you have any regrets about being my girlfriend?"

"Yes."

"Really?"

"Yes, only one thing. Do you remember the day we spent together before I had to move?"

"I do. And…?"

"There's just one thing, Sweetheart," Sakura lay her head on his shoulder, "I just wish our first kiss was more romantic."

Naruto smiled and closed his eyes, "I'm glade that--."

Sakura cupped his face in her hands and drew his lips against hers in a passionate and deep kiss. Naruto was caught completely by surprise, his emotions melted away.

When Naruto regained his senses, e reached his arms around her, deepening the kiss.

Naruto loved the feeling of her soft lips and the taste of sugar plum in his mouth.

When Sakura stopped she looked at him smiling, "That's what I wish our first kiss was like."

Naruto smiled and pulled her close to him in the full-light of the rising moon.
