Had to write an epic poem similar to Rip Van Winkle, this is what came out |
Nobody knew Of the young girl Who lived far away In her own little world. Alone in her hut she would wait, for the veggies to grow on which she ate. She had a pet squirrel, Who followed her 'round And shared every nut That he found. Her only friend, Jon was his name, Came everytime She felt lonely and afraid. One day, while cooking, At the door came a knock- She looked up in fear (for it was a great shock). Not knowing what to do, She was rooted to the floor, When suddenly Jon appeared "Don't answer the door! "Go hide, be quick. "Don't answer the call. "Who knows who it could be, "They will ruin us all! "They'll take you from here, "Make me go away "We will never again together "Run and play." Before the small child Could make up her mind, The door banged open- It wasn't very kind. "Why are you here girl, "Alone in this hut? "Where are your parents?" "But...but...what...?" "Speak up little girl," The large man did bellow, "Don't be frightened, "I'm a gentle old fellow!" Cried Jon, "Don't believe this, "He's just lying to you!" The girl was confused, Didn't know which to choose. She did love Jon With all her heart, But had hoped one day From this hut she would part. She longed to be near others she could touch, Who lived in the real world- Jon just wasn't enough. The man stared in wonder "To whom do you speak? "Pack your things wee one, "You'll be home within a week." Quick as a flash Fast as a cheeta, She raced to gather things Nearly at the speed of Light. But Jon begged, "Wait, do not leave me so, "Let me go as well. "The man won't have to know." Before she could reply Jon was gone from sight. The man in the door Said, "Lord, this bag is light! "When we get home, There is so much to do. A great many things I want To show and buy you." The girl ran up To take his hand And forever left the hut- Her new life had began. But in the back of her mind In a place she could not see, Came so great a laugh, "She'll never be rid of me!" |
