Potential terrorism from illegal refugees is not about bombs but reverse discrimination |
Do I fear terrorism? Yes I do, and fear is the most terrible of weapons because of its insidious nature. Australia is already a daily victim of terrorist acts. Not acts of violence such as suicide bombs, or bombs in shopping malls. No, the terrorism is that of usurping our Nations right to be Australian; terrorism from people who, under a banner of being political refugees, discriminate against us. Australia has existing cultures, heritages, political and religious practices and all who choose to live here should accept that these are our rights. When they choose to come to Australia, we do not deny them their right to bring their history, culture or religion. Australia is multicultural and that implies that people of many nationalities can live together in harmony. Why then do an increasing number of immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers whose home nations did not allow them freedom of speech, abuse what automatically applies to all in Australia. They hide behind the disease of political correctness. Thye are allowed, without consequence, to use the cries of racism and discrimination to abuse Australian politics, religion and lifestyles, to take away or change the existing freedoms Australia extends to all who live here. Sadly, our governments heed political correctness before commonsense; before the beliefs and needs of the people who elect them. Shouldn’t a genuine refugee or asylum seeker be grateful for whatever shelter and comfort is given, knowing it is the way to a better existence than that left behind; grateful to the people of their new country for giving their life weary children the opportunity to grow and prosper in safety? Shouldn’t they understand the true value of freedom of speech and use it to improve the rights of their families left behind in their home nation, so that one day they or their children can return there? Why should they be allowed to use that freedom to abuse Australia and Australian lifestyles? In return for this new life, a genuine refugee or asylum seeker, as those from previous wars have, can retain their culture and religious beliefs, not by enforcing theirs above those of Australians, but by existing side by side with us. Our troops are fighting in Afghanistan under the banner of the Australian flag and all it represents to protect, the families the asylum seekers have left behind. Yet the Australian flag can be burnt publicly, without penalty. Refugees from Iraq and Afghanistan can call our sons and daughters who fight everything terrorism stands for, murders; here they seek to deny our children traditional celebrations or activities and to judge our women by their moralistic codes? How many Australian embassies where refugee can be sort, are bypassed to get to Australia? To ignore the opportunity to get legal entry into Australia as a genuine refugee or asylum seeker, can only be seen as intent to enter Australia by forcing themselves upon our country. Our government should deport them back to their homeland with the advice to go to the nearest Australian embassy and apply through the appropriate channels as required by everyone else seeking to live in Australia. To go to the closest embassy, those seeking refugee or asylum status would travel not so far, risk their families lives less and not have to pay Indonesian people smugglers. This would also maintain a system where everyone, refugee, assylum seeker or immigrant alike who enter our country, have had proper security and health checks. Only then will Australians be more accepting of them as new Australians, rather than possible terrorists. I don't believe it to be discriminatory or racist to propose that If any immigrant, former refugee or not, finds little to endear them to the Australia they have chosen, and deem our nation’s lifestyle is not acceptable without change, then they should return to their own country and enforce changes there. Australians need to know that they, and the religious faiths that have held this country together through the worst of times, are not being devalued or pushed aside as being politically incorrect. Australians will not, and should not, tolerate those who come to live in our countries without showing the respect due to our nationalism, idealism and everything our flags represent. |
