Princess Juniper Ann must endure sadness and love to become the next royal on the throne!
I sat up in bed, sweat dripping down my face into a puddle on the cream bedsheets. Getting up on wobbly legs, I felt the ground vibrate beneath me. "What is that?" I wondered nervously. Heading away from the bed, I stumbled to my dresser and pulled out a soft black dress. It had real roses stemmed to it in pinks, whites, and deep mahogany. Mother would have thought it to be too plain, but it was just perfect to me. As the ground shook harder, I changed and threw my nightgown to the floor along with myself. It was just shaking too hard! Something was creaking above my head. I looked up just in time to see the roof crumbling around the edges of the walls. It started to collapse, and I heard a shriek. Wait- it was just me... A whistle sound crash landed and splatted on my shoulder, making my delicate earringed ears ring. Ouch! My shoulder hurt so bad... Silently crying tears of pain, I crawled all the way to the door. It took a second, but I dragged myself up by the shiny gold handle shaped with a lion head. This was my sisters room, and I shouldn't be in here. But since the night when she went missing, I was drawn to it like thunder to lightning. With a loud thud, I felt my body fall outside of the room- into someone's arms. He was so strong, so handsome. Dark hair fell in his eyes as he half dragged me through the arch of the hallway. I was scared, but better with Breek's green eyes holding mine steady as we entered the Drawbridge Area. "Hold on, Juniper Ann," he whispered in my ear, and jumped into the water. I wondered why until I watched the bridge fall just like the castle around me. "Mother," I croaked. "And father." Breek merely glanced my way as he shifted my around his body onto his back. I sat on him delicatly as he stroked through the debris-filled water and reached the riverbank. As we stood up, I let the water drip from my hair and I got up in his face. I rasped, "Breek. I said where are they? My parents were still inside, weren't they? Why didn't you help them instead of me? You-" Breek put his hand to my lips, shushing me like a mother would her crying child. "Please, you are making this harder on yourself." I wanted to hurt him, then. Badly. They were my parents, and he just let them die! But I held back my slap and instead fell to my knees sobbing. Breek squatted beside me and, instead of his usual hand on my shoulder, he wrapped me in a hug and rocked me back and forth. "Shush, shush," he said. After I sat there a few moments, the noises from my crying and the crashing of the castle stopped. It was an eerie silence, but it made me stand up and start to ring out my long red hair and say, "Well... Now that... My parents... are gone... I guess that I... had better start gathering the kingdom and tell them what happened." With a quick glance at Breek, I stated, "And decide who shall rule at my side." My dress was filthy, and my hair was scraggly and thin, but I knew Breek loved me anyway. He grabbed me by the shoulders and put his lips to my mouth, a warm kiss that spread from my head to toes. Juniper Ann and Breek Lee. The Lee family would rule the kingdom. Him and I, together forever.
