Poem about a woman looking for love.
On The Edge, I

She stood by the water,
staring out into the darkness
black velvet studded with diamonds for a sky
Onyx, liquified and flowing
giving the impression of a floor.
Looking into the blackness
searching and waiting for the brightest star
He who will come and save her.

She's seen Him in her dreams
but she can't remember His face
she awakens each morning
feeling loved, feeling secure
then remembers that she's still alone.
No sleep for her now
she will stay awake raking the night
with her eyes,
she will see his face. She will find him.

"He's here!", she thinks
She opens her eyes to the blinding light,
hoping to finally see his face...
and sees only the sun

Morning comes in
with a light breeze from the ocean.
The tide moves in and out
and still she waits.
He didn't come.

The wind picks up,
the clouds roll in, as if moved by the ocean waves.
She walks toward her house and silently cries.
