A Cold Winter Night

A cold winter night in this small town,
a night so quite it carries the sound.
The cool wind blowing across the ground,
or the echo of a train from the other side of town.
A cold winter night in this small town,
the skies so clear every star shines down.
The streets are empty this time at night,
except for an ambulance called off in a fright.
A cold winter night in this small town,
where the darkness has faded
from the snow on the ground.
To go for a walk would be like a fantasy,
the feeling of magic, adventure and mystery.
So a cold winter night isn't so bad,
and in this small town it makes you glad.
