My journey has begun - Now, it’s strangely fun … The scenery is breath-taking; The world is just awaking. Smile: Plastered on my face, Anticipation of this race – I’m new. Fresh: Energy is abundant, I’m feeling quite triumphant - I’m due. So, I think of you. Hills come into sight - Majestic, in the sunlight … The challenge looms ahead; I think of life, instead. Tears: Brought me to the brink, I’m peddling as I think - Of you. Heart: Pounding in my chest, Beating without rest - It’s true. That I love you. I never will escape - The mountains, this landscape . . . Sweat forms on my brow; I’m riding faster now. Still the tears: Streaming down my face, Brought me to this place - To view. Love: Pouring from my heart, I don’t know how to start - To renew. The life I want with you. Every turn that I make - Joy becomes heart-ache … Sweat is streaming down; I taste the tears, somehow. I cry: Weeping like a child, Exhausted with each mile - I go. My soul: Completes the final cycle, Sweat and tears recycle - They flow. Thinking of you. I pedal even faster - Life is yet to master … As I cross the finish line, I raise the victory sign. |
