Promises

Walking hand in hand
Gazing into our eyes so deep
We made those five promises
The promises we meant to keep.

The first to love with all our hearts
And let no wall come in between
The second to tell our joys and sorrows
To share we should be keen

The third one said, "I'll be with you"
Through all thick and thin
The fourth one said forgive and forget
And wash away your sin.

And last but not the least
Our friendship will never end
Come what may our love will stay
And I'll be your best friend

And then you went away leaving me astray
Your last words still make me weep
"Dear, promises were made to be broken,
And never meant to keep."
