The End of Days

It was then that I knew
Things had come to an end.
It had gotten to the point
That we weren’t even friends.
Eyes wet and heart torn,
I headed towards the door,
My feelings forlorn.
Somehow I knew
That this day would come.
Yet I didn’t anticipate
How things would become.
Words once filled
With love and devotion
Now left my body
In a state of desolation.
I couldn’t see how
My heart could overcome
This pain it was dealt.
My mind had succumb.
