a Villanelle poem about the regular routine not exciting enough to save.
The never changing, surrounding scenery emits no emotion from you,
but yet in a passenger seat of a car, you cannot help but to stare at
the same motionless trees, and imagine a transformation that’s long past due.

Although impossible, you look outside, thinking  nature will change its hue.
it is always the same repetitive scene, over and over, nothing but flat.
The never changing, surrounding scenery emits no emotion from you.

Each moment you could predict the next, the familiar routine hardly anew,
but still, tearing your eyes away is not an option, and you once again take in that
same motionless tree, and imagine a transformation that’s long past due.

Every day it all repeats, but still you gaze at the sight, as if on cue,
in no way considering forthcoming generations and their building craft.
The never changing, surrounding scenery emits no emotion from you,

dull memorization controls your mind. This morning you already knew
you would end up here, watching and sitting  in the same place you once sat,
the same motionless trees, and imagining a transformation that’s long past due.

The imminent machinery will eventually tear each inch of it down, only a few
plants will be left untouched. You realize this is true but don’t bother with combat,
The never changing, surrounding scenery emits no emotion from you,
the same motionless trees, and imagining a transformation that’s long past due.
