Baby

Baby was born
With ten fingers and ten toes
With a heart of gold
And skin pale and bright.

Her life was set in a beautiful scene
Daddy smart and a soldier
Momma stayin' home all day
Then things got a little strange
And Momma made Baby's skin turn blue.

Teacher asked her many times
Baby are you okay?
She always nodded her head
And pretended all was alright.

Then one day
She couldn't take it no more
And she packed her things and left

Now Baby's a new woman
She grew up before she turned two
With Daddy away
And Momma gone crazy
She had to raise herself
As only, She knew.

Baby's finally happy
Now she's a long way away
Her Daddy came home
And loves her, as only he could.
