A poem inspired by absolutely nothing.
I watch you take your seat in the corner
You don’t look at anything
You take a sip of your coffee
I watch as it falls around your lips; you lick the taste away
It’s hot in here
You wipe the sweat from your brow
You’re alone; a thing we have in common
You look my way, but past me
The sun hits your eyes, making them transparent
I see you, inside
I wonder what it would feel like beyond it all
And you are a stranger
