Promise- A unique love story.
In our daily lives we make promises, some to ourselves, some to our friends and what not, but do we fulfill all promises. No not always, Promises are broken every other moment.
But Deep --- our hero, made a promise to Shikha a silent promise which we never broke in his lifetime.
What that promise was, why he made such a promise to Shikha, How did they come to know each other..........?

Deep was just 21 when he got a job in a well known company. His first job just after graduation, like other just graduate guys he did not have to wait in long queues waiting for his turn for interview and then getting a "VACANCY FULL" reply.
He was handsome, tall guy with great voice. He had won many awards in singing competition in college functions, school.
All girls would want to be his friend but for him girls were a complete NO, not because he did not like girls but for him a relationship had to be a serious one, he would make friendship with the girl who he thinks will be his life partner. He believed in lifetime commitment.
In his family he had his lovely mother, a father who was more than a friend with him, and every small thing they both used to share when he came from office. Life was all good and happiness ruled in this sweet little family.
In office also good luck always shined for him, he earned a best customer service agent award and got more incentives then his colleagues. One day his shift was just about to end , it was his last call he was supposed to pick for the day.
The phone rang---------TRING TRING
Hello this is Deep, how may I help you.
Please help me I am in a big trouble and I have no balance in my mobile to call at home. PLEASE HELP!!!
Came a trembling voice from the other end. It was a girl and it really seemed from the voice that she was in trouble.
Deep--I am sorry to know you are facing trouble but I sincerely apologize we cannot make calls to any member; we will only be able to attend your calls.
The voice from the other side -- I know but it's an emergency, is there no way you can convey message to this number 0222****** and tell them to call me--Shikha immediately
Deep---I am very sorry Maa'm, I would have been glad to assist you. Is there anything else apart from this I may help you with?
The voice said-- No thanks
Deep --Thank you for calling customer service, have a great day.
First time in his life Deep felt very bad about being a customer service agent who can't give a service at the time of need. What’s the use of this when you can't do anything for the customer who is in real emergency?
Before logging out he had a habit of saving all the calls he had attended in his notepad for reference. He noted down the last call number, went out quickly to catch his cab that was waiting to drop him at home. It was 2:00 am.
He had a great memory so the last number got saved in his mind, he was very upset after the last call so just set in the cab and closed his eyes, trying to catch a nap.
All the time he kept thinking of the voice, he could imagine at this hour of night one girl is in emergency, what trouble she could be in. Suddenly a Idea struck him. He gave a call to the number Shikha had given and told them about this. Felt like a big relief to him. He caught up some sleep.
When he reached home he told his mother about this. She patted him He was very happy Shikha's sweet voice was echoing in his ears.
Days passed by and life was normally running as usual, but he could never forget Shikha. In the system they had all the details of the member. One day he just thought of putting her number into the system and check out the details .
Oh Great!! There was a big smile on his face. Today 12th October was her birthday. What a better day to call her up and wish , it was just 12:00 exactly, he went out for a break and called her up to wish "HAPPY BIRTHDAY".
HELLO-- he heard Shikha's sweet voice after long time.
WISH U A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAA'M.—
Thank you very much, but who is this?
Deep- I am calling from your service provider customer service.Just wanted to wish you Happy Birthday. I hope I have not offended you at this time of night.
Shikha-- Not at all Deep, I am happy that some body called me at least.
So now I have got your personal number, can I call you then ?
Yeah well anytime you want a friend you can call Maa'm.
Call ended and he went back to his usual calls on the floor.
This is how a unique friendship began. It was unique because they never saw each other. Friendship turned to love and nobody knew.
One day he got a chance to visit Shikha’s city, he quickly called her up and she almost jumped with joy, after all she will be meeting her best friend infact her love. They decided where will they meet and how will they recognize each other.
So it was final on 13th Dec he will be coming to her city and he would wear yellow T shirt and jeans and Shikha would be wearing her pink dress and they will meet at a Coffee bar near Shikha's house
The day came; both of them were very excited and also had told their parents about it, they were too waiting to see Deep. Time they had set up for meeting was 3:00 pm Shikha could not wait to see Deep nor could he hold his excitement.
When they saw each other, it seemed world stopped there to see unique lovers, they did not even realise that time passed so quickly that it was around 12:00 in the night.
Next day he met with her parents for lunch before leaving for his city again. They too liked him and finally the thought of marriage came to their mind, though neither Shikha or Deep had it in mind.
But when it is destined nobody can stop it. Their liking to each other, parents liking them all came to a point and their marriage got fixed.
Just 10 days before their marriage Shikha met with an accident while shopping with her mom. Immediately rushed to hospital and Deep and his family were informed of this. All of them quickly rushed.
She was serious and only name she called was Deep. Doctor's told him to sit with her as it was very important Shikha wanted to talk with Deep. Both were now alone, Shikha asked Deep a promise, what was that promise which he never broke in his lifetime?
It was that Shikha was her parent's only daughter, she took a promise from Deep that he would look after them after she dies. He not only promised her this but also he made a promise to himself that he would not marry any other girl in life but Shikha.
Her condition was serious .14th Feb a day every couple enjoys in life and he made it unforgettable for Shikha, he married her in the hospital, with only his parent and her family to attend.
He simply put the sindoor on her forehead and Mangalsutra on her neck. All hospital staff watched this love with tears in their eyes.
On 20th Feb morning when Shikha's mother brought her tea, she was in deep sleep .She kissed her tried to wake her up, but when even after few minutes Shikha did not respond to anything she panicked. Immediately Doctor was called upon and he declared that she was no more.
As he had promised Shikha he brought her parents to the same city he lived in and took care of them, Although nobody could forget Shikha yet they asked Deep to now get married nobody would like to see their son living a lonely life. But he refused and also never disclosed the promise he made to Shikha and himself.
Such was his promise which he never broke in his lifetime ------------------- A True promise.
