After her crazy weekend, she still is no closer to finding out what happened. |
When Cassie woke, she felt strange. Her body was completely numb. As she opened her eyes, looking around, she realized she was no longer in Canada. Bright lights. She very quickly realized she was in a hospital room. What the fuck, she thought. When she looked to the left, she saw Scott sitting in the chair sleeping. She tried to move her body, but nothing was moving. She tried to call out to him, but nothing came out of her mouth. She drifted back to sleep wondering if it was all just a dream. Hours passed. Cassie had visions swirling in her head. John, car, Michael, the boys, hotdogs, blindfold. Cassie started coming back to reality again. This time Scott was standing next to her bed, holding her hand. Hello Beautiful. He said, with a huge smile on his face. Cassie tried to talk again, but nothing came out. Here, let me get you some water. You gave me quite the scare. How you feeling? He asked as Cassie sipped the water. Where am I? In the hospital in Saginaw. How long have I been here? About a week. Cassie started feeling sick to her stomach. What happened? You don’t remember? No. Scott tell me. What happened? Honey, you had a car accident. As near as anyone can tell, you fell asleep at the wheel. No broken bones, lots of bruising, but you’ve been in a coma for quite some time. Cassie started feeling sick again. The dreams. The visions. They have to be real. But if they are real, she thought, she had one helluva night. She was trying to remember everything, but the last thing she remembers is the pounding on the door and John yelling at her to get her clothes on. I’m going to go get the doctor. Let’s see when we can take you home. Scott! No! Just stay here for a moment. Cassie needed to stall. What did he know? Did I talk to him after that night? How did I get to my car? How did my car get fixed? What the hell happened? These were all questions filling her head, and with no easy answers coming. She had to find out how much Scott knew. Scott. Please tell me the last conversation we had. He looked at her funny. Tell me! Baby, we can talk about that later. T E L L ME, NOW, I need to know! We had a fight Cassie, ok, happy? You called me from your cell phone and you sounded all weird and said it would take another day to get the part for your car. I wanted to come get you and you said no. I asked where you were, and you couldn’t tell me. You had me scared. I was upset. I’m sorry. But you’re here and you’re safe and you’ll get better. What day is it? It’s Tuesday. Shit! Where’s my phone, I need to call Frank and see if I still have a job. I already took care of that. He said you take all the time you need. He said to tell you your job will be then when you get better. He wasn’t going to lose his best waitress. Cassie’s head was hurting and spinning. Still no answers from Scott. Honey, I’m tired. I’m going to sleep a little bit. Ok, I have some work to catch up on. I’ll come back in a few hours and see how you’re doing. Cassie was already starting to doze. The dreams were intense. She was starting to remember what happened. I said get dressed! NOW! John yelled at her, as he threw her clothes at her. Cassie was genuinely scared at this point. John, what’s happening? I told you there were things you don’t know. Before he could finish, the door flew open. Charlie and Jake grabbed John and threw him down on the floor. John started yelling. Guys! Don’t do this. She’s just a kid. Oh, right John, you get to fuck her and we can’t have a little fun too. Mikey was yelling. John was yelling for them to stop. He couldn’t move. But unfortunately he could see everything. |
