What comes to mind when we think of love? -A shot poem about love- |
Love is Hot as fire, shining angrily; burning, consuming everything that's in sight, but it can be cold as an iceberg, forgotten in a freezing ocean, in the very edge of the world. Love is a warm feeling, like sunlight in a cold winter morning, but it can be lonely as a sandy desert, formed by colossal dunes that move with the southern wind. Love can be a light that guides you out of a mysterious, dangerous dungeon, as it can also be the light that deceives you towards a trap, ruthless and cruel. Love can make you see the world around you in a way never thought of before, unimaginable and wonderful, but it can blind you in such a powerful, smooth way that it's almost unnoticeable. Love can heal wounds in such a soft, soothing way that it feels like cloud nine, but it can also be a knife carved deep within your heart, agonizing and torturing you to the soul. Love makes you fly higher, sore the cerulean skies like eagles and dwell within the clouds, as it can drop you from above into an abysm, cold, dark and lonely. Love is red, because its wounds never fully heal, and keep bleeding endlessly until all you're left with, are the masks, futily used to hide the pain. Love is ruleless and senseless, a cruel disease that doesn't chose victims, as it is also sweet and warm, a soothing balm to a shattered heart. Love drives people to madness, taking away innocent lives dramatically, as it also gives its minions a reason to wake up the next morning and flow the river of life. It makes the deepest most inner feelings of ones self come to plain sight and reveal who that person truly is. Love is what makes this confusing, senseless world spin round, Love is what gives me a reason to live and move on. P.S. Special thanks to Stefan Kamer. |
