I wrote this when I was feeling tired of hiding my emotions all the time
Standing here against the world,

Just wanting to be free;

What are you going to do?

And how will you think of me?

I am standing here,

Bound in chains;

My soul is weeping,

With a hidden pain.

The sky grows dark,

My eyes, darker;

The days grow short,

The nights last longer.

I am standing here,

In the middle of this field;

I can sense the danger,

I can feel nature yield.

Something is with me,

I am not alone;

There is no safety,

In this wretched place;

I would rather be at home,

I would rather be with you;

I would rather not have to save face,

And pretend;

That I am braver,

Than i really am
