Short creative story.
Once upon a time, there was the most beautiful land. In this land the sun streamed its bright yellow rays across the beautiful and colourful flowers that grew themselves from the soft soil. Friendly vegetarian dragons often soared across the skies showing off their bountiful colours. Wild unicorns could always be seen lurking around the fields, always comfortable with any man or beast to interact with them. Fauns danced around the lands, singing quietly but beautifully to themselves. The birds that inhabited the land were filled with bright colours and were very playful with anyone who they met. The skies in this land were always stained light blue.

The small pools of water that lay throughout the land were nice and warm in the winter and cool on hot summer days. The beaches all around were filled with crystal clear water and the sand was bright gold. All around plentiful fruit grew around of all different kinds that were sweet and juicy. It was the best fruit that could ever be found. The small forests that lived in that land were nice, green, mossy and beautiful. Often pleasant waterfalls gushed down large drops into a nice pool around the forests. Nobody in the land was scared of one another, even the very few men and women that lived here would not be afraid to approach a dragon or to approach any other creature, man or women they may find in this land. Everybody in this land would share all they had, all the food they collected and they would always greet each other with a joyful and pleasant attitude. Nobody ever stole from one another, or hurt each other.

One day a man named Peter who lived on that land was walking along the beach. His bare feet swished gently through the water of the sea and he walked along with a joyful and happy face. As he walked along a bird came and rested itself upon Peter's shoulder. Peter fed this bird with some fresh fruit that he had been saving. The bird happily plucked the fruit out of Peters hands and chirped quietly. The bird remained on Peters shoulder chirping cheerfully and happily. The water felt pleasantly cool around Peters feet. The nice green grass swayed as a peaceful and pleasant wind drove by. Trees all around stood straight and tall. A unicorn dashed through the fields playing happily with a butterfly. Peter faced up at the sky and saw a nice bright orange phoenix fly by, its wings more beautiful then a rainbow. All was well, as it had been for many hundreds of years in this land.

As Peter strolled along the beach, he heard a long loud horn out toward the sea. His head suddenly spun around to see about ten large ships heading toward their island. The ships were large and black and sent a terrifying shudder through Peter. The bird flew off in a hurry. Peter looked back at his beautiful land, all the creatures seemed to be terrified and backed away slowly. Peter feeling not so pleasant any more and slowly walked away from the beach.

The ships got closer and closer and soon upon the shores of this beautiful land. Ladders were thrown over the ship side and down the ladders climbed the dark elves. The creatures who inhabited this beautiful land backed away with fear. Around one hundred dark elves emerged from the ships, all with bows drawn and swords in their sheaths. The king dark elf could be seen leading the army. He wore a silver crown upon his head. The king signalled to the elves and they all released a volley of arrows.

These elves were silly if they thought they could defeat the creatures and dragons upon this land, but all the creatures were much too gentle and refused to fight. When the elves realised that the creatures upon this land would not fight the king elf used his magic to seal magical bonds upon the creatures on the land making them slaves. Peter felt the force around his arms and his legs and now knew that he could not move without being told to. “We have heard rumours about these lands” Said the king elf “how beautiful they are and how precious and tasty the food is and how it is constantly sunny. We have sought them and now we wish to take the land for ourselves”.

The unicorns, the fauns, the people, the dragons, the birds, the rabbits, the dear, the phoenix and every other creature upon the land were all now slaves of the elves. A month in total they had all been slaves, but something had happened that the elves had not anticipated on. The day after the dark elves had taken over, a large black cloud covered the sun up leaving it all dark. Within the week the beach had become all muddy and dirty. On the second week all the nice colourful flowers had died and the pools of water had dried, the ground was all hard and dry. On the third week the waters of the beach had become dirty and all the green grass had dried leaving all hard and dried ground. Bye the forth week all the trees had died and what was left was long brown sticks in the shapes of trees. All the glorious fruit had dried up into a black balls.

The land that had been most beauty was turned into a waste land. The dark elves had come to enjoy the lands abundance not to live in a horrible desert. “Why has this beautiful land died” Cried out the king elf. Peter broke out of the magic bonds and walked over to the king elf. The elves watched him as he walked up to the king but Peter did not stop. “You have come to this land with greed taking more then you need” Peter said calmly “you envied us wanting what we had, and you have attempted to kill in order to get. If you take more then you need, you have too much of it and get sick of it thus it turns out to be not so good after all. If you envy you want what somebody else has you will focus all your attention onto getting that thing you envy, yet you don’t see the things around you, that you have, that will make you happy. If you attempt to kill in order to get what you want, you will not enjoy what you have gotten knowing what you have done to get it. You have come here seeking happiness yet you have done three things that will guarantee unhappiness. That has poisoned our land”.

“you are right” the king elf said and instantly released all the magical bonds he had around the creatures. “we our sorry” the dark elf said and bowed in sorrow with all the other dark elves bowing with him. When he lifted himself up Peter held out his hand and the dark elf shook it. Something caused the cloud to move and the sun to instantly come out, it was friendship. After two weeks the land was restored to it’s natural beauty and because the dark elves had released the darkness in their hearts, they were now known as the golden elves. Together the golden elves and the creatures of the land lived in harmony.
