I walked the shadowy hallway, my steps very soft. My mind raced with hundred possibilities and I looked around me wearily, especially in the shadows. My heart raced. I heard a creaking somewhere deep inside the dark room I was heading and Stopped dead. I knew I have to be carful; they can come and get me if I'm not checking behind my back constantly, every dark shadow. My breathing came faster as my body covered with fear sweat. A bright blue eye set in an angel's face. Head tilted to one side, considering me like some deep sea predator on it's pray, Mouth slightly open, And in a crazed frenzy, attacking Body stretched and shrinks an uncontrollable, endless giggle at the end of its roaring scream….. I shook my head. Scary films at night can make your brain run wild. I looked again behind my shoulder, took a deep breath and quickly turned up the light. The room was empty. Darkness claimed the room again, but my pace was easy. Quietly I laughed at my own cowardice. I Tucked my body beneath the blankets safely, waiting for deep sleep to claim me. My mind started to doze. And then cold hands grasped my right foot. |
