a little piece of thanks which by no means compare for what my mum had done for me |
Thank You Mom! By Bakhtawar Wasi As I look through haze To all those past years and days You taught me how to stand and walk To give my head a toss Whenever I begin to act like a boss You taught me how to defend what’s right And to never back down from a flight When time got tough you told us they would be alright. We never wondered how you survived, All those years of grief, and revive. You are the strongest person I have ever known Who smiled down at the world while feeling so down. When we got sick you stayed up all night Praying that we would soon be alright I remember my first doll While u gave Bhiyya* his ever wanted ball I remember my first ride, first wreck You picked me up said “what the heck!” Persuaded me to give one more try While knees skinned I forgot to cry With every turn of our lives you were there Now making you happy is our only care You are the sunshine of our hearts You are the thousand winds that blow You are the diamond glint on snow You are the beauty of a sinking sun Being near you is always so fun The way you laughed to see your son first shaven Making our world appear like a little piece of heaven We found our bestest friend in you With whom we can always be frank and true Like earth revolve around the sun Our world revolve around you, and no one! You are the sunshine on ripened grain You are the joy of a desert’s rain You are our mom, you are our dad The only thing we ever had, is you As so I thank you! More than you would know Than I would ever show And so I thank you! |
