COLORFUL ILLUSIONS The little girl lay quietly in the hospital bed with colorful illusions dancing in her head. She didn't notice the nurse dressed in white who stayed by her bedside night after night. She didn't notice the tears or see the pain of loss her parents felt, but all the same she was aware that they stood nearby, and tried to tell them of the beauty of the sky. The sky at night was full of twinkling light, filling her heart and soul with much delight. In the morning the sun's rays shone through the window, welcoming the morning dew. Rainbow colors swirled around her room, mixed with stars and a soft silvery moon. Bluebirds were flying above a field of flowers, She would watch them for hours and hours. She could hear a song, the angels singing, listened to the promises they were bringing. Soft feeling of a gentle hand upon her own, His hand reached down to bring her home. Way up in Heaven, she has no memory of her pain or the sadness of her family. A perfect place for a little child to be, there in the arms of Jesus for eternity. The colorful illusions became a reality... Countrymom 11/3/09 |
