Questions

  Why...? Why..? Why..? this diminutive word constantly bounces in the vastness of my mind. And every now and then one word is added to it. Why what? and so begins my journey.

  Why is it, that in a world like this one and in a time like ours there are children being sexually abused at this very moment? there are children dying of hunger? there are people dying of rudimentary illnesses? In a world that boasts of such things like nuclear power, genetically enhanced foods, intellectual proficient doctors, in a time which is product of the keenest minds of humanity, Davinci, Einstein, Kant, Newton, Descartes, Plato, Aristotle, Chomsky, and so many others... why? why is it that in a world like this in a time like ours, there is a 13 year old girl giving birth to baby boy, a baby boy which her experiences have led her to do nothing more than deposit him in a garbage dump? And the most we do, the most one does upon knowing of this act, is pass swift and contemptuous judgment on she who had the misfortune of being shaped by her environment. Why is it that in a world like this, in a time like ours, we have yet to eradicate all that ails humanity? we can only reap blood, tears and suffering from our actions? Why can it not be any different? Why must it be so?
