Free verse poem about who knows what.
I was reconceived
Re-achieved
In the manes of lions
Amber light
That grounded me
The sunrise of honesty
Dimmed and diminished
Into extinction
By nightfall
When I can hear
The faraway rumbles
Of disquiet
That cleave the silence apart
Revealing the dark
Of the human eye
Lit from within
By yellow lamp-light
That brightens and destroys
In equal parts
Character develops elsewhere
In the safety of dark
Time is measured
In the efficacy of the heart
Exposure and uncertainty
That breed a resolution
What do you see?
Don't believe
Because this is the only place
Where fact is an honesty
Not level with truth
Just another shade
Of goldenrod abused
My only faith is in lions
The birth of what will be
And dead every night
