Forgotten Days

I will never
betray you
ignore you
control you
or break you
a code to be lived by every day
with so many endless days
these are more than rules
they are commandments

Love is an intertwining creature
sweet with a tinge of deceit
daisies and daffodils flirt
with gravestones and black cats
intermingling with each other

Roses blushing their cheeks
cherry against the morning sun
thorns as knives in my heart

Unable to be held
and wondrous to look upon
with a snip and a snap
it falls to the ground
and shatters like glass
never to be repaired again.
