         AN OFT EMPTIED GLASS

Why do most of our young people constantly think
That a parties not fun unless you constantly drink
That a brain still in gear is not something to show
Because totally flying is their right way to go
Why do our young men think that sober brings cost
Because failure to drink finds your friends will be lost
And too many young ladies think they somehow amuse
When they’ve drowned all their morals in far to much booze
Why is their personal enjoyment only found in a glass
Where they only have fun when they act like an ass
Then brag about drinking and tell every friend
How plastered they were when the party found end
Just why has our society reached such impasse
That most only find pleasure in an oft emptied glass?
