A breed that seeks gold and chaff at the same price
Hoping fire would feel like ice
Pass the two desires through a furnace
Choose between the products on the surface

A breed that seeks a big fish in shallow waters
Numb to the strength of deep matters
A wide-opened eye makes seeing harder
Seeing only the crowded base of life’s ladder

A breed that wants convenience as a price for comfort
Seeking knives of a blanket’s function
Pleasure and pain from the same source
Sacrifice and selfishness of the same force

A breed that trusts in the eyes
Lacking the vision of the greatest heights
One grain in the grandeur of nature
A confused leader of divided nations
