A few rhymes i wrote when i had a tune buzzing in my head
I keep to me as you can see
I don’t need nobody who don’t need me
I walk the street while I kick the beat
I need to eat to stay on my feet
I’m quite social just a yokel
Who’s lost in the city I need no pity
I make the jokes that are oh so witty
So I don’t tell a joke unless I know you’ll laugh
And after the rafter came crashing down it fell through the ground
And changed the town by throwin down a new sound
But the old one stands
And makes no demands
Just throws up its hands
And throws down its grands
To all the masses who threw out their asses and lost all their passes
But clung to their hope
Cuz you know it’s no joke
You need it go
I ask why you lie
But it’s no surprise I see it in your eyes
You need to learn the right and keep it tight
And learn the wrong and get the wrong to get gone
And while this is goin on
Just sing the song that makes you want
The things that never are
They seem too far
Always in your reach
Learn your speech
So you can speak what’s on your mind
And look for things to find inside
That will keep you alive
They give you what you need to survive
They give to the people from the tallest steeple
And they help the citizens who can’t meet dividends
And are losing friends due to tragic ends
But they keep on moving
And they keep on proving
Even after all the losing
That we can keep on doing what we been doing
But we need a new message
And we need one that addresses the messes
We need to keep the message fresh in our minds
So we can stay on the line
And not fall behind
But to lead the way
Save those that went astray
We need to do this everyday
That’s the message that I’m trying to say
