Poem about strangers separated from each other but joined through dreams |
Two divine sparks of an eternal flame, fates crossed by the stars. Strangers by day, lovers by night, hidden by a thin veneer, separating shadow from light. Through this veil they peer, burning for each other by crescent moon's light. Calling for each other across distance and time. Yearning for beauty sharing a love sublime. Amidst chimeras mistaken for reality, Two lonely dreamers, born from each other. She, whispers sweet melodies in his ear, He, is her breath giving life. Only through dreams he can hear, And in visions seen with an inner eye, She comes to him from within, taking flight with dawn's first light. He is her prince, she, an image slipped into his mind, reflecting an inner life. Composing serenades by day, 'I circle around you, fearful of your flame, How to know the 'you?' Behind the facade of your name? And not just this image of you, Dancing a graceful ballet in an inner shadow play, Across this mental screen of mine? A thin curtain separates, By it I am confined.' One inner light unites the two. He, is her suitor, She, is his muse. In dreams shared together, under evening's cover, She sings, asking, 'Where is my prince? I can feel his presence. I enter, seeking him. I am allured by his fragrance, Yet, I cannot find him Amidst these illusions of space and time. What is this mask You hide behind? My love is unsurpassed, Break this wine glass, Taste my sweet flowing wine.' Each image briefly brushes against the other, kissing, caressing, entwined together, Inside of dreams Conceived during sleep, Lovers by night, Strangers, left alone, and unknown by day. Two divine sparks Of an eternal flame. |
