for the coloring contest, a bit about theft.
They say you can't steal
what no one truly owns,
first the broad land
then the buried bones.

In one hand a Bible
and the other a sword.
Give up freedom and family,
serve our Lord.

No more spirits.
To God you must pray.
Believe in salvation
but only our way.

"Thou shall not kill,"
the black robes preached.
"Destroy the red man"
others beseeched.

So the story goes;
six hundred years
we continue to steal
leaving rivers of tears.

Stolen heritage and legacy
cast aside and forgotten.
In the end we cared not
for their soil, misbegotten.

They say you can't steal
what no one truly owns.
First the broad land
then the buried bones.
