Yellow

My brand new shoes,

Each other nail,

The knowing that to then succeed,

At first, you have to fail



The flowers in the subtle breeze,

The loyal summer sun,

The plain, yet big ambition

To do what's never been done



To climb the highest mountain,

To swim the largest sea,

The oh-so-elegant sunflower,

The ability to be



The smiley face at Wal*Mart,

The lucky, golden stars

The simple, worty moments

That make us who we are



The hyper, happy moments

That can turn, so fast, to mellow,

These are things in my mind

That remind me so of yellow
