Song lyrics about losing your past
When I was young I thought I’d be OK,
Never thought I’d look back to yesterday,
A carousel of girls with pretty smiles,
Saturday night dancing on the tiles,
But that was yesterday!

Pointless arguments leading to fights,
Broken hearts and hiding when you cried,
Saturday afternoon and the Boothen roar,
Then we’d go and kiss the girls some more,
But that was yesterday!

I find myself praying to Saint Anthony,
For what I’ve lost my place in history,
I’d found myself placed upon this road,
Walking ever on and getting cold,
Memories of yesterdays growing dim,
When I’m going who’ll remember them,
Just moments disappeared past away,
Saint Anthony help me remember yesterday.

Taking off at last to experience life,
Leaving home switching off the security light,
New faces met who become your family,
A life so different at university,
But that was yesterday!

I met a girl who said she studied geology,
Another who was only interested in biology,
I met a man who said he’d met Jesus Christ,
Who went home alone to cry every night,
But that was yesterday!

I find myself praying to Saint Anthony,
For what I’ve lost my place in history,
I’d found myself placed upon this road,
Walking ever on and getting cold,
Memories of yesterdays growing dim,
When I’m going who’ll remember them,
Just moments disappeared past away,
Saint Anthony help me remember yesterday.

I bought a book about a talking train,
Read about farm animals with funny names,
Kissed my son as he slept in bed,
Thought about the things my daddy never said,
And that’s today!

I find myself praying to Saint Anthony,
For what I’ve lost my place in history,
I’d found myself placed upon this road,
Walking ever on and getting cold,
Memories of yesterdays growing dim,
When I’m going who’ll remember them,
Just moments disappeared past away,
Saint Anthony help me remember yesterday.

There’s a million paths here in front of me,
Not one of them will tell me what it’s to be,
I’ve got a choice to make just like yesterday,
And all I can do is pray that we’ll be OK,
It’s another day!

I find myself praying to Saint Anthony,
For what I’ve lost my place in history,
I’d found myself placed upon this road,
Walking ever on and getting cold,
Memories of yesterdays growing dim,
When I’m going who’ll remember them,
Just moments disappeared past away,
Saint Anthony help me remember yesterday.
