To your heart and back again

when autumn roams away
leaving the world behind
downcast in silver shadows
and wintry graves.

to your heart and back again

when winter blows again
leaving the world behind
hidden under greening buds
and shadowy waves.

to your heart and back again

when you whisper good night
and sweet dreams in my sleeping ears
and hidden away in the shelter
of your hoodie and arms.

to your heart and back again

when the fields grow cold
and winds slice through
I'll still be here even when
winter comes and forgets.
