Chapter 1 :)
She dabbed some pink lip gloss and pressed her luscious lips together and smiled in the mirror. Her black silky hair looked straight and glossy after spending at least a half an hour on it. Her blue eye liner made her brown almond shaped eyes stand out while her heart necklace and her lucky pink charm bracelet really made her out fit look ten times more amazing.

Haylie's heart was just pounding with mixed emotions. She was excited to finally see her friends after the summer. Tamber and Kylie were both away for like half of it. Also she was excited about starting at a new, bigger school with many more people and new faces. She wondered what everything would be like. She was nervous and ecxited all at the same time. She heard from people that the older kids like to pick on freshman and throw batteries at them on Freshman Friday. But then again, those were probably just rumors. And even if anyone did throw batteries at her, Haylie was sure to throw them back! Also she was excited about making new freinds and meeting new guys. She heard a lot of things change in high school. Haylie promised herself she would stay the same. She didnt see any reason to change.

As Haylie went to go spray some of her Berry Kiss Perfume from Victoria Secret, she stared at the pink leather picture frame on her dresser. In the picture was her and Kylie on the last day of eighth grade in their homeroom. They had so many good memories in that class like crazy games of truth or dare and mixing glue and white out and putting it all over the table. But at the moment, it was the room, or Kylie or herself that she was focused on in the picture. In the backround, over Kylie's shoulder was Daren Crawford, looking his friend Roger's PSP. Even off guard, his geled up black hair and gorgeous green eyes looked amazing. Everytime she saw his face in that picture her heart would beat faster and a rush of emotion would forve a smile on her face.

"Honey, what are you smiling about?"

Embarassed, Haylie turned around to find her mother standing at her door.

" Oh nothing, just excited about the first day of school," replied Haylie trying to sound as natural as possible. She hated being walked in on, especially by her mother because she'd always know when something was up. Then she would go on and start bothering Haylie by asking her ridiculous questions. It was somehow like she could read her mind. Surprisingly, this time all she said was "okay, get in the car"

Haylie grabbed her brand new pink bag and happily hopped into the the back seat. Surprisingly, her bag also smelled like Berry Kiss just like her. Haylie wasnt surprised, after all she DID spray a lott of it. She closed the door and gazed out the window as her mom started the car. She took her pink jeweled mirror out of her new bag and opened it up, checking to see if she if her lips were still shiny or if her eyeliner hadnt smeared. Haylie hated herself for this, but all she could think about was seeing Daren again. Would he be in any of her classes? Did he miss her over the summer? Was he still mad at her? Would they still be able to be friends? Were the rumors she heard about him really true? Did he tell anyone else about what happened that June? Her mind was racing with thoughts and questions.
