Little Brother

I have this little brother,
who really is a pest.
They tell me to be nice to him
and I really try my best.

But he takes things without asking,
cause he don't know how to talk.
And everyone all claps and cheers
when all he does is walk!

I just don't get the big deal
I've been doing it for years.
When Ma first saw him do it,
she cried her "happy tears".

He still drinks from a bottle
and fills his pants with poo!
I eat with all my manners,
and he can barely even chew!

I can do arithmetic
and I don't need help to shower;
I go to bed all on my own,
but him-he takes an hour!

He blabbers on with fake words
that don't even sound right.
He hits and bites and pinches
and Ma tells ME not to fight!

I'm really, really smart you know
I just made it through grade one.
My little bro just sleeps all day;
so tired from havin' fun.

Well, he just came here and hugged me
and gave that silly smile.
I think he wants to play with me.
I'll see ya in awhile.
