A lady's haunting dreams
witness

“ Have you ever stared at someone?”
“Well, I suppose I have.”
“Have you ever stared at someone… and felt frightened?”
“Frightened?”
“Yes, overwhelming fearful. Once you lock eyes you feel as though, he might never forget your face. And your sure never going to forget his.”
“Miss, has someone been here. Is that reason you called the police, because someone broke into your home?”
“ Oh, nobody has visited in years. I called you because I am afraid he might visit, again.”
“ You must explain, I can’t help you unless you tell me what is going on.”
“ Please, stay with me. Oh, I can’t explain.”

Sweat dripped off of Witness’s face, as she sat up from her nightmare. A strange dream she had dreamt. Nightmare’s had been creeping up into Witness’s sleep and each night it would continue the same dream. The dream started good, the first night. She was in a theater and there were many people around her laughing and she seemed to laugh, as well. Then the laughter turned to a deep voice and the people disappeared, but the deep voice still rang around her. The second night she fell asleep, she found herself in the theater and the people on the stage seemed to be reenacting a death scene. Two people were on the stage, one dieing, and the other crying as though in despair, but as soon as the person died, a cruel celebration broke out and the low voice returned. Then she awoke, she sat up in her bed and the low voice still rang in her head. What was it saying? She drifted back to sleep, and the nightmare did not return, but the third night, it returned and she was in the theater once again. This time she was on the stage and she was the one dieing and she lie on the bed reaching for a figure and as the figure stepped into the light, she saw a very distinct face. It was a man, with cold, ice, blue eyes and a face that seemed so extremely captivating and she stared at him. She could not scream or run, all she could do was stare at him and he stared back, then she awoke sweating and she ran to the bathroom nauseated.

“Miss, I am going to leave. If anyone threatens you or breaks into your house call. You know the number 911,” The police officer stood and left, leaving Witness. She sat there silent, in her old Victorian house, her mother had lived in and had given it to Witness when she passed.
The house definitely looked old and inside Witness kept it plain looking with very little color, or decorations. Her mother had always had the house decorated extravagantly, but when she died Witness couldn’t stand seeing her mother’s taste everywhere. Death was a very scary thing to Witness, she believed that death was almost like a terrible curse. You get sick of old age or some disease then everything inside you stops and you can never awake from it. You are stuck lying there and then buried inside the ground. Oh, and once someone has died, Witness thought it would be best to live as though they had never existed, so you wouldn’t mourn over them.
Witness stood as the policeman got into his car and she stared out the window. She didn’t think he would understand, but she was sure that someone was after her. Witness’s black eyes, stared out the window even after the police man had left and she realized that she was on her own. People would probably think she was paranoid or just simply crazy, but she knew that her nightmares was deeper than just dreams. Witness took her eyes off of her driveway and looked into her one mirror. She touched the bags under her eyes and pulled her thin brown hair from her face. She believed she was an old spinster, though, she still had beauty from her youth. Witness walked into her living room and picked up a book, just as she began to read she heard a knock on the door. She looked out her window and saw Forest, a young boy that was her neighbor.
