A moment of abstracted perspective.
What of Nothing, if Anything, am I?
As suspended above a starlit abyss,
Lying beneath the vast velvet ash sky.
Rendered here to nothing more than this,
Supporting the crushing weight of the planet
Or is it I who clings to the ground?
(Lest I should release and plummet,
Fall into the stars without scream of sound.)
I am caught in the layer between two worlds:
Positive and Negative, Lost and Found.
I hold existence together while reality blurs.
And If I let go, the Earth crashes down.
Then I alone hold up the Earth and down the sky.
for in that instant I am vital,
I am everything
(At least for a moment till I stand up and sigh.)
Sky above, ground below, now logic again takes wing.
Alone I walk. Nothing, if Anything,
Am I.
