Mastering strikes in the sport of bowling Requires more than accuracy and rolling; What a player must have is urgency and need, And both are supplied with adequate ball speed! Some players have speed, and others don’t, But the compelling need for speed won’t Tell a slower player how speed can be achieved – But wait no longer, here’s the tip for which your heart has grieved! Simply speaking, throwing harder requires physical work, Which means acceleration, moving feet, and hands berserk – But what I’ve found is slower players showcase quiet hands; Physical, visible hands are what your newfound speed demands… Smooth and quiet hands are a mark of slower players, Who might strike rather frequently, without too many errors, But accelerating the bowling ball with physical, visible hands Will avoid the transparent release that gives no speed when it lands… I’m a slower, under-achieving, high-spinning bowler Who has had some success, but not a high average roller… I hope I’ve finally figured out the key to consistent scoring, And found the necessary ball speed to send my average soaring! I often share my tips with players, and much to my surprise, They celebrate these worthwhile tips and say that I am wise! I’ve bowled at least 3 leagues a week for the past 11 years, So if this tip works, please be glad, and keep those open ears… |
