A follow up to "Dying inside".
Demons

Days are dark and friends are few
Yet this hell in heaven is nothing new
Suddenly the clouds began moving aside
And for the first time in centuries, I could see the sunshine

I soaked up the sunshine
Briefly smiling at the sky
The voice was reassuring
It said, "Everything will be fine"

Without the glimmers of hope, how does one survive?
Trying to slay away the demons that constantly plague our minds
They said they're from the past and that they're here to stay
The futility in my desperation to make them go away

I found myself wandering a lost world
The darkness lurking; not a soul in sight
The demons came to life
They said I have been feeding them all this time

They’re in my head, they’re everywhere I go
Their constant presence hindering my ability to grow
At long last, I breathe, as I begin to stand
Facing the demons is the only way I can become a man
