When a blanket of darkness falls,
A wise old owl loudly calls.
Lively day becomes tranquil night,
A cloud of bats promptly takes flight.
A single wolf's howl pierces the sky,
Wailing at the moon, hanging up high.
Muzzle pointed at the glowing sphere,
More wolves join in as they appear.
The hooting owl prolongs its cry,
Waiting for others to reply.
Veiled under a bouqet of leaves,
His poor prey he effortlessly deceives.
At dawn the sun wakes from its nap,
For an instant day and night overlap.
In a hurry and without a sound,
The guards of night melt into the background.
The diverse animals of the night,
Hastily crawl out of sight.
It's now their turn to rest for a while,
For soon they repeat this life style.
