The winners of past Paradise Cove Writing Challenges are listed here. |
I'm attempting to update this Past Winners listing by searching through past posts. If you find any of the infomation below incorrect, or if you have anything to add, please let me know. Thanks for your patience while this update continues. OVID, THE EROTIC POEMS Pen a story with the following quote from Ovid: "All right, boy, skewer me. I've dropped my defenses, I'm an easy victim. Why, by now Your arrows practically know their own way to the target And feel less at home in their quiver than in me." Keep your story in the present day, or have it take place during Ovid's time. The world (and time) is your oyster. What does your imagination conceive? The winner for the APRIL/MAY 2013 Round is listed below: First Place
March/April 2012 Prompt A FANTASY ROMANCE March means Spring (at least for our friends in the northern hemisphere) and things of St. Patrick's Day. Tell me about a Fantasy Romance this month. Anything goes this month as far as eroticism, romance or gender. One note: I am not by nature a Fantasy writer. Please keep your worlds fairly simple. I would say that a complicated world will most likely keep me from becoming involved in your story, which is where I want to be. This is a Writing Challenge. I'm looking for creativity, plot and tension. The winners for the March/April 2012 Round are listed below: First Place
Second Place
Third Place
February 2012 Prompt LOVE GONE BAD February has long been about love and "happily ever after." But THIS February will be different. Write a story about Love Gone Bad. January2012 Prompt Romance is in the Air Write a story about ROMANCE! Perhaps a chance encounter, or two friends who've grown up together and finally 'see' each other as something special, or something humorous with dad involved--just keep it romantic. That means NO erotica this month; ratings should be no more than 18+. Also, for this round only, please no same-sex pairings. C'mon folks, this is a writing challenge--you can make it romantic, even sensual, without the erotica. Think back to when you were dating.... Your ad is answered... but by whom, is it really the person you met and where does it go from there? And yes, you can be single, married, in a relationship ... stretch your imagination. Perhaps this stranger is fulfilling a secret fantasy that you've had, maybe one your spouse/lover/significant other can't (or won't) fulfill? First Place
