A short poem about a person who is dying.
I’m dying
A scary death
I have cancer
Little breath

The end is nearing
Life almost over
Despite my wishes
On a four-leaved clover

It’s terrifying
To lie in bed
When the next day
You might be dead

My family vists
Friends as well
Try to calm me
I’m in my cell

Hospital’s like jail
There’s no escape
Only death
A horrible fate

People say
It’s not that bad
You might get better
So don’t be sad

I say they’re stupid
They don’t understand
I’m fading away
This wasn’t planned

I almost wish
The end would hurry
Then I wouldn’t
Have to worry

I have no strength
I can’t carry on
Just lying here
Death has won

I’m now too weak
Can’t breathe no more
Can’t tell left from right
But of this I’m sure

I’m Dying
