A Jolly Swagman
Reed waited for the young maids to come to bath at the sea shore.
He was born in the sea before the land split in two. A very tricky
Faery. Reed would slip up on a maid bathing an make merry with her. He
sang on the waves, "You'll come and I'll wash over ye."
On that day a very fair red hair maid waded into the waters. She was
no more than hip deep, when she felt a nibble between her legs. His arms
were about her thighs and would not let go. She slid back into the waters
Reed's glissening embrace splashed over her arms and legs
encircling her. His long tenticles searched her nakedness.
The Faery cast a spell into a wirlpool, "Let the world spin forever down."
But she replied,"Life is ever lord of death. Let heavens gates be shut to those who
cannot love!" She rose up from the waters like a god. "Who is this? No mortal
can break my hold!" Reed stuck his head above the waters.
"I am Aphrodite. I was born from the ocean of Cythera. Adonis and Ares are
my lovers. I am one of the Twelve Olympians, who stands before the throne of Zeus.
You will stop your harassment of my sisters. Or I will put an end to you." her
voice thundered and her face shone like the sun. Reed dipped his head below
the waters, "It was a woman who brought mischeif into the world. It is a woman
who will stop it." His words bubbled with the breaking waves. Thrusting his tenticles
behind him; he dove deep into the abyss.
The young maidens rejoiced and threw off their garments, frolicking in the waters
under the watchfull eye of Aphrodite. "I never saw a man who could be trusted
with so many temptations." the Goddess whispered and kept her gaze upon the sea.
